None of us are perfect and a lot of people have that mind set that they need to be when they start doing this so, you know, they eat something they shouldn't at one point and then instead of just starting the next day new and fresh, they let it spiral and they just keep going with the bad habits.

People who have a lot of weight to lose really struggle with that because even though they didn't put on 30 or 50 or 70 pounds right away, they want to take it off right away.  And no matter what they do, they feel like they don't see the results fast enough. But...

“Rome wasn't built in a day”.

I love that saying because it did really make sense to me until I started working  on my own masterpiece

which was my body and my mind and my own personal self-growth through fitness and the key is  that you cannot have what I call, my medical term, “getthereitis” or suffer from “Iwantitnowitis”.  You can't do that.

So keep your eye on the prize and another powerful metaphor I like to use is that funny enough, when an airplane takes off to its destination, 99.9% of the time, it is off its course.  But, it keeps the destination on its radar and it ends up landing to where it needs to be.  So if you fall off or get off your plan, get back on it and keep your eye on the prize and set your goals in front of you.  Always look at your goals.  I keep a vision board.  Oprah keeps a vision board.

The bad thing is, is that I have a dress that I want to wear to my birthday in 2009 and I'm going to be able to wear it.  The success principles of my program worked.  It’s something that I created, it's just things that work for everybody and you implement them, the power of implementation.  So the vision board to keep your goals in front of you.  And also, don't expect too much too soon.  Make fitness a way of your new lifestyle.  Make it fun.  Keep it interesting.  Don't get bored with it.

Also, it's that mental shift of:  “I get to work out.  I get to get fresh blood and oxygen all over myself.  I get to give the greatest gift of life to myself which is exercise.  And you get a whole new sense of well being from working out.” Next page...
